Quilters meet Hookers

For our first meeting since our Holiday party in December (due to snow, of course!) we had a wonderful presentation on the antique art of rug hooking by Gabrielle (Gabby) Wicklow of Camden.  Gabby brought a variety of rugs that she is working on as well as many samples of her wool “stash”. (Everyone has stash it seems!). Gabby explained how she dyes her own wool, tears it into strips, prepares her design on the “canvas” (linen) and gave a demonstration, allowing those who wanted to, to try it.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAFollowing Gabby’s lively presentation we had a great “Snow and Tell”* session.  Our long, snowy winter has produced lots of new quilts and many finished UFO’s.
