Coastal Quilters Presents Program on Improvisational Quilting
Camden, Maine, September 23, 2016—Join Coastal Quilters on Saturday, October 8th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Lions Club in Camden to learn about quilter Timna Tarr’s nationally award-winning improvisational quilts. Ms. Tarr will present a trunk show of her work, and will talk about her quilting journey and how she designs her quilts. While Tarr’s contemporary quilts reference traditional quilting, they are innovative in both color and design. In the afternoon, Tarr will teach a workshop titled “Improv Piecing: Tips and Tricks.” The morning presentation is free and open to everyone.
Quilter, teacher, and lecturer Timna Tarr comes from a long line of quilters but did not begin quilting until after studying art history in college. Her quilts have won many awards and have been in numerous juried exhibitions, including American Quilting Society shows, the International Quilt Festival in Houston, and the National Quilting Society show in Columbus. In addition, her quilts have been featured in several quilting magazines and books. Tarr lives in South Hadley, Massachusetts.
